Wake Up Jane

Lanna, Ashes, and I played at the Youth Arts Festival last month. Jake and Isaiah didn't play with us (Isaiah had sports, and Jake didn't have time to practice with us, so he played by himself).
Well, I changed the name for you.... Shake Up Jane is an awesome name!

In case you were ever wandering what in the world I am doing as a member of this blog for a band that I am not in, I decided I would get on here and explain my reason.
You might have heard my name come up a few times, seing that you probably know LeeAnna and Joella, (my two best friends.) My name is Cherise [13] and I live in Oregon City.
A while back (around the time we first met which was 3 years ago) we had wanted to be a band with each other having me play the violin and guitar and piano (they the drums and piano and guitar) but the distance of which we are (350 miles) has kept us from any band making. I heard that they have found a band created with local friends which is doing great. I want to join, but it will be a long time till that is possible. Untill then I am working hard on my instruments, and come up with lyrics and music to it. I hope in the future you will find me useful in your band and also get to know me as a friend, too.
I'm glad I have the chance to explain this to all you people, before I just all the sudden show up for band practice one day when you may already have a couple albums out there.
Thanks for reading and God bless you all. :)

When asked our band name, we first said, "we don't know." "Sitting Ducks?" "Awakening the Dawn?" "Case of Music?" "Case of Notes?" "Case of Melody?" "Case of Harmony." And we all agreed. At least, that's it for now. So far, we've had four band names: Bottles of Dirt, Potential Sarcasm, Shake Up Jane, and now, Case of Harmony. What's next? I like Red Rain. WHAT ABOUT YOU?
Anyway, we had our wonderful violinist play with us. We practiced the song a few times before the show started. I've yet to see it on tape, and I think I'm scared to see myself, even thought I played well. Right after the song ended, Jake turned to me and said,"That was really good!" We all had big smiles on our faces.
Later,
Jo

Shake Up Jane is getting ready for a talent show on the first! The piano-player (who is actually me, who is typing this) is also getting ready for a performance class, a solo at the talent show, and a recital, for which I have to have this huge Beethoven song MEMORIZED. I'm also trying to memorize Lion, and have about half of it down without looking at the notes. I don't get nearly as much practice time as I need, so I think that today I'm going to call the church where I use to take piano lessons, and see if I can go practice on one of the pianos there, where there are no distractions. I love my band. =D

Have any of you ever heard the song "Lion" by Rebecca St. James? (of course you Shake Up Jane blog members have...) Here are the lyrics:
Mysterious
That's what I call You
I'm curious about You
I'm scared and not sure that You are safe
But Your eyes seem to say that You are good
Chorus
This is not a dream that I'm living
This is just a world of Your own
You took me from all that I knew
Shown me how it feels to hope
With You with me, facing tomorrow together
I can learn to fly
Feels like I'm living in a lion's mouth, but the lion is (an angel)
Wise eyes, You see the core of me
Your gentleness melts me
And now I know that words cannot describe
The power that I feel when I'm with You
Chorus
This is not a dream that I'm living
This is just a world of Your own
You took me from all that I knew
Shown me how it feels to hope
With You with me, facing tomorrow together
I can learn to fly
Feels like I'm living in a lion's mouth, but the lion is
Peace and power, love forever
Who am I to stand before You?
I am speechless
But in my weakness
You are here and all is well
You took me from all that I knew
Shown me how it feels to hope
With You with me, facing tomorrow together
I can learn to fly
Feels like I'm living in a lion's mouth, but the lion is (an angel)
Chorus
This is not a dream that I'm living
This is just a world of Your own
You took me from all that I knew
Shown me how it feels to hope
With You with me, facing tomorrow together
I can learn to fly
Feels like I'm living in a lion's mouth, but the lion is (an angel)
